The much awaited results of the doodler contest are finally out…

 

‘My Monalisa’ by indian_blues wins!!!

 

The contest theme was to create your personal “Mona Lisa’ that is to create a toondoo that included the use of the doodleR tool.

We received as many as 144 creative entries from different toondooers! However, toondooer indian_blues seems to have taken the contest theme quite literally as he created a full fledged portrait of Monalisa!!!

So, we decided to take the word ‘contest’ too, literally.... was there a ‘con’ there? Or perhaps, a ‘test’ for us? To find out, we took indian_blues' ‘My Monalisa’ apart to check if she was truly doodled! And, true enough - it was every stroke a doodle! Here is a stop motion video, our understanding of how indian_blues created this work of art:

 

We also interviewed indian_blues about his achievement and here’s what he had to say…

TD: Congrats on winning the contest indian_ blues! How does it feel?
IB: thanks a lot. Pretty happy, I knew it will end at top five anyway.

TD: We'd like to know more about you. Tell us where you're from, your hobbies and interests?
IB: My mama will go mad at me if I disclose my personal details to anyone in internet, so sorry and I hope you won't mind it.

TD: From where did you get the inspiration for the 'My Monalisa' winning toon?
IB: From the contest page itself, so let me dedicate this toon to the one who designed it. Thanks brother/sister, this is for you.

TD: Can you tell us how you learnt to draw so well using the mouse?
IB: No kidding I'm only good (at least my belief) at aiming people and shoot their heads using mouse in games... maybe it helped...hee..heee

TD: Your toons have always been very creative and different. Where do you get all the ideas?
IB: Thanks, hmm... I'm born creative, God's gift, instinctive, well I could go on I know you are not going to believe it. :)

TD: What do you like most about toondoo?
IB: Everything, I don't want to point out.

TD: What changes, if any, would you like to see at toondoo?
IB: I'm pretty content with toondoo, hoping to see more friendly features in future.

TD: Who are your favorite toondooer's?
IB: I hate to make a long list.

TD: Share some 'contest-winning' advice for other dooers?
IB: Participate, do it for yourself, no matter it is recognized or not. Make sure your toondoo puts smile on your face whenever you u see it.
